The D-265VA has solid sitka spruce top and solid rosewood sides and back. Sonorous and bold, loud and clear, great playability and a classic look. The vintage aged top and herringbone purfling hark back to the first versions of this classic model giving this model a very distinct look. The solid rosewood back and sides are what makes this guitar so sonorous and clear sounding. The volume is higher than with its mahogany counterpart, the D-240. The low end is much bolder, the high frequencies are thicker and clearer with a lot of body. A dreadnought it typically played in strumming style, the big top has a slower attack time than the smaller bodies guitars, giving the dreadnought a full and round sound that is commonly loved by guitarists who use a pick. The technical and aesthetical advanced features include bone fittings, a double action trussrod, voluted headstock joint, cotton capped X-braces, mahogany back braces, high grade Derjung machine heads, USA D'Addario EXP16 coated phosphor bronze strings.
